A sarinda is a musical instrument from Afghanistan.
In the violin family (bowed strings), a sarinda looks like an elongated apple with bites out of each side.
It is a melody instrument with a high voice. Instead of playing it like a violin,
you hold it upright in your lap with the strings facing forward and reach the bow around the front of it.
